A message to our friends in the non-profit community,

I have had the opportunity to travel to many developing nations in Central and South America. I have often met people who told me about children and fathers that had been forced by economic circumstances to leave their homes in search of work.  I have also spent time in coffee growing communities participating in Fair Trade cooperatives. Although these communities still had very limited resources there was a strong sense of hope for the future and a knowledge that people around the world cared enough to offer a fair price for their hard work. People sent their kids to school not to work, families were able to stay together and make a living growing coffee. The Fair Trade Coffee Campaign is one simple way consumers can impact rural poverty in developing countries. We hope you will join us in spreading the word. Fair Trade works!!
